Benefits of United for Peace and Justice Membership

United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ) is a network of organizations. Any group that agrees with our Unity Statement is eligible to join. When you join UFPJ your organization becomes part of a network of hundreds of peace and justice organizations around the US working with groups around the world to end war and oppression, shift resources toward human needs, protect the environment and promote sustainable alternatives. Our overall long-term goal is to grow a culture of justice, peace, equality, cooperation, and respect.  United for Peace and Justice also is an active partner of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.

Our member groups operate with autonomy, allowing a wide range of approaches and strategies to achieve shared goals. We lift up the voices and work of members through our newsletters, web site, and online events. We encourage member groups and individuals to engage in educational activities (for which we can provide support in planning), public protests, nonviolent direct action, and mass mobilization; all of which we will promote and support.

You can publicize your actions and campaigns via “Currents,” our monthly newsletter, and our web site. Our web site also includes a variety of informational and organizing resources, ranging from a Ukraine resource page reflecting a variety of perspectives to an action kit for organizing participatory public readings of Martin King’s “Beyond Vietnam” speech.  Find more UFPJ  resources on our Resource Page. You can also raise awareness of the resources your organization has available by adding your own entry to our new Member Group Resources page. And your organization will have an opportunity to participate in the next round of our Seeding Young Peacekeepers project.
