Welcome to the United for Peace and Justice Resource section on nonviolent direct action (NVDA). We are glad you have taken the time to look at this information and these materials and hope that they will help you in the organization of your work. We have tried to make this information as easy to access as possible.

Why Direct Action Now
We know it can work.  After the elections last November and the groundswell of public action focused on congress, we know we must do even more to end this war.Combining our mass protest strategies with local and national actions using nonviolent civil disobedience will greatly increase the cost and sense that we are not willing to cooperate with ongoing injustice.

Every successful movement for justice or peace has had to call on these strategies for change.
