Peace Week at Laney College (March 13-17)

LANEY COLLEGE ANTIWAR COALITION:
The Laney College Antiwar Coaltion (LCAC) is a group of Laney clubs and individual students united by a common desire to bring the peace movement onto our campus, and to actively involve more Laney College students in the movement.

PEACE WEEK:
The first organized action of the Laney College Antiwar Coalition will be a week-long series of events on Laney campus in anticipation of and preparation for the nationwide antiwar demonstrations planned for March 18th through March 20th (the third anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq). Tentatively titled "Peace Week", the LCAC will organize more than a dozen events, workshops and multi-media displays at Laney College during the week of March 13th through March 17th, with the objective of making the peace movement seen, heard and felt EVERYWHERE on campus. MARCH TO STOP THE WAR:
On Saturday, March 18th, the LCAC will lead a contingent of Laney students at the "March Against the War" in San Francisco. Protest signs and a "Laney Students to Stop the War!" banner, to be used at the rally in SF, will be made by students on campus during "Peace Week".

CAMPUS ANTI-WAR NETWORK - "DAY OF ACTION":
On Monday, March 20th, the LCAC will lead Laney College students in a "Day of Action" against the war, in solidarity with students on college campuses nation-wide.
