Iraq War Surge Protest
Thursday, April 5th 2007 8:00 AM
Denver, CO USA

My name is Jeff Graves and I am the president of the DU Young Democrats. I’m writing to let you know about an Iraq War Protest that we will be having on campus on April 5th, 2007 that you, or some people in your organization, might be interested in.

On the morning of April 5th, a flag will be planted on Driscoll lawn on the DU campus for every solider who had died in the War. For the rest of the day, the community/students/anyone interested will take turns in 15 minute increments in reading the names of our fallen troops. There will also be a large display reading “Stop the Surge”, which students will be encouraged to sign and will eventually be sent to Senator Ken Salazar.

We are inviting the entire Denver liberal and progressive community to join us in this effort. We would love it if you would consider adding this event to your calendar and/or including it in your newsletter. Anyone wishing to sign up for a time slot should email jgraves2@du.edu with your preferred time, or check our website, www.du.edu/orgs/youngdems to see what time slots are open.
