Arlington West is a project of Veterans For Peace. This is a memorial to the human cost of war. We honor and recognize those who've lost their lives in the current incarnation of US foreign policy in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those on the receiving end of those benevolent US policies of "freedom and democracy" are also recognized in this human cost.

Arlington West is NON-PARTISAN and non-sectarian. We do not endorse nor advocate for political parties or for or against any religion. Annual Al-Quds Day Rally for Justice in Palestine and the Oppressed Everywhere

Al-Quds is Arabic for Jerusalem, the Holy Land. Yawm-al Quds or Al-Quds Day is a day of solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians in their struggle against the Zionist-Apartheid system of Israel. Al-Quds Day also extends beyond Palestine to support all oppressed people in their struggles across the world. All over the world rallies and marches are held on this day, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadhan in order to pledge solidarity with those seeking peace through justice.

As former United States President Jimmy Carter has stated in his book, “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid”:

“When Israel does occupy this territory deep within the West Bank, and connects the 200-or-so settlements with each other, with a road, and then prohibits the Palestinians from using that road, or in many cases even crossing the road, this perpetrates even worse instances of apartness, or apartheid, than we witnessed even in South Africa.”

This day is an opportunity to stand in solidarity with the oppressed in their struggles all over the world, from Palestine to Iraq, from Congo to Honduras and from China to right here in our own backyards in the United States. On September 3, 2010 at 11 am, join us and other local community leaders and activists for this historical protest and pledge your solidarity with those seeking a just peace in Palestine and around the world.

Lounge on the grass, dance or hoop to the music, maybe to the beat of your own drum. Kick back, relax and expand your mind while you enjoy a cold drink and a bite to eat. Expect good conversations with new and old friends alike, as we join together in support of PEACE ONE DAY.

(We will be accepting canned & dried good’s to share with the local community. In 09’ we collected 600lbs, let’s meet and exceed last years record, we need your help!)
