| Sell me a book!
by Kit Marlowe, Scotch Plains NJ
February 16th, 2003
As I stood at the corner of 71st St. and 1st Ave. yesterday, I told other demonstrators that I would cheerfully buy a coffee-table book that showed photos of the 600 February 15th Rallies. The other demonstrators agreed that they would buy it, too. |
| What the NYC Rally was really like for most of us
by Laura Roberts, NYC
February 16th, 2003
We just got back from the protest march. A half a million of us attempted to march to 1st Avenue where the rally was being held. It was totally chaotic. Since the city refused to grant a permit for a march, different groups of people just showed up nearby (mostly at the public library) and started trying to make their way over to the UN. |

| George Bush Does Not Speak For Me!
by Bette
February 11th, 2003
Well, if that makes sense to you, the next time your neighbor annoys someone, maybe you’ll get punched in the nose. That’ll teach your neighbor, right? |
| The hypocrisy of the Wall Street Journal - a letter to the editors I submitted that they may never publish.
by Paul Jacob Boller, Switzerland
February 10th, 2003
Dear Editors of the Wall Street Journal:
As a devoted reader of the your publication for over 30 years, I have always respected and admired the quality of your editorial page. However, I was both astonished and greatly disappointed in the manner in which you orchestrated the development of the "Europe and America Must Stand United" letter that you published on Thursday, January 30th in the European version of the WSJ. |
| Italians don't agree with Bush policy
by Stefano, Rome - Italy
February 10th, 2003
Even if I have not voted for Berlusconi (our current Prime Minister), I'm very sorry for his support to Mr. Bush policy. I assure that the majority of Italian people are against this crazy will of war and this will be clear on Feb 15th when we will be on streets agains the war. |
| Dave Matthews speaks out against war
by Liz , New York
February 9th, 2003
I hope this letter finds you all well and that in these uncertain times you find moments to be joyful. I want to speak my mind about this war with Iraq, or I will choke on my conscience. |
| The shortcomings of Bush's and the Hawks' arguments for war
by Jeremy Schiffer, Manhattan, NYC
February 8th, 2003
Saddam Hussein, the target of the American government's current war campaign, was once a staunch ally of the United States. During the Reagan administration, when Iraq was battling Iran, the US provided weaponry and biological agents to Hussein's Iraq, as an attempt to counter-balance Iran's Islamic fundamentalism. |
| Soldier Speaks from USS Truman: "We're Going to War"
by Robert Q, USS Harry S Truman
February 8th, 2003
ou guys, in the mid-late 90's we knew that Afghanistan hosted the world's most feared terrorist and did nothing about it until after the "fact". Are we gonna wait for disaster again? Do you all really think that Saddam doesn't have these WMDs?? Do you really think he wouldn't give them to terrorists??? Ladies and Gents, he pays the families of suicide bombers $25,000 for their actions! |
| Books Not Bombs March
Washington, DC
February 8th, 2003
I read the article on the Books Not Bombs March thinking that it sounded like a great idea. I am a teacher and I believe the education is our most valuable resource. As much as I object to the idea of war at any time, I think it is not a very well thought out plan to completely abolish ROTC and JROTC programs. |
| Moral Support for Peace : Two Poems
by Tammy Hermit, Toronto
February 7th, 2003
Conscience collides with vengeance;
No one knows where it's lost.
Peace or war; Conflict or reconcile;
A boggling mind catches wild thoughts.
Terrorists and conquerors are all haunted wolves.
Only helpless innocent people hurt. |
| In response to Joe - and all who preach this as a just war
by Alan , Estonia
February 7th, 2003
When reading the history books from the last 100 years as you so eagerly reccomended you find ample proof that this has happened many times when the inhabitants of the white house and pentagon has created incidents and started war that profits them. |
| Voluteers for Peace in Irak
by Olivier, France
February 7th, 2003
First it is much recomforting to see that, unlike what is shown in our medias, it is not the all of the US that wants this war.
In Europe, even if most of the population is against this and make it known with demonstrations, it seems that politicians still prefer to agree with G Bush.
