Make a Difference Now

June 30th, 2008

If you agree that the voice of the anti-war movement must be heard during this critical election season ...

If you agree that the anti-war movement needs to come out of this election season stronger than ever before ...

If you agree that UFPJ can and must do this work ...

PLEASE MAKE THE MOST GENEROUS DONATION YOU CAN TODAY!

A lot will happen in the next 4 months: A new president and Congress will be elected. At least $40 billion will be spent on the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, while our local infrastructure and domestic economy languish. There will be more senseless death, misery and destruction. And the Bush administration might attack or provoke a disastrous military conflict with Iran.

We can't hold our collective breath until after the elections to re-double our efforts to end the war, and to turn this country toward more peaceful and just priorities.
Changing the political landscape is as important as electing a new president. We must do it now, and we need your help.

As we outlined in the email we sent last week, United for Peace and Justice is deeply engaged in grassroots efforts to make the demands of the peace and justice movement heard throughout the election season and beyond. We have a solid team of trained organizers, an ambitious plan of work for the next four months, the nation's largest network of anti-war groups and organizations, and decades of organizing experience to build on. The one critical element we still need is the financial resources to fully carry out this timely initiative.

If you have not already done so, please take a moment now to make the most generous donation you can via our secure online donation page. (Click here for information on other ways to donate.) Thank you to those who responded to our previous email and offered your critical support for these efforts.

Yours, for peace and justice,

Leslie Cagan
National Coordinator, UFPJ
