  • CostofWar.com -- A running tally of the financial cost of the Iraq war and occupation, with an interactive feature that allows you to calculate what education, health care, and other human needs could have been met by that money.

  • Al-Ahram Weekly -- Weekly English-language edition of respected Egyptian newspaper includes excellent reporting and analysis from throughout the Middle East, plus frequent commentaries by the likes of Noam Chomsky.
  • Alternet -- AlterNet is an award-winning news magazine and online community that creates original journalism and amplifies the best of dozens of other independent media sources.

  • Bring Them Home Now -- Bring Them Home Now is mobilizing military families, veterans, and GIs themselves to demand: an end to the occupation of Iraq and other misguided military adventures; and an immediate return of all US troops to their home duty stations. Their site provides news, updates, analysis, and tips for taking action against the occupation of Iraq.

  • Common Dreams -- Wire service compiling "breaking news and views for the progressive community" from both mainstream and alternative outlets.

  • Dahr Jamail's MidEast Dispatches -- News, photography, commentary, and analysis from hotspots in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and beyond.

  • ­Democracy Now! -- The website of Amy Goodman's superb Pacifica Radio news show, provides streaming audio (RealPlayer required) and partial transcripts of broadcasts.

  • Electronic Iraq -- A portal that provides links to breaking news stories, photos, factsheets, and on-scene reports by members of Voices in the Wilderness and the Iraq Peace Team.

  • Left Turn -- Left Turn is a national network of activists engaged in exposing and fighting the consequences of global capitalism and imperialism. The collective publishes the excellent Left Turn Magazine.
