October 25 Bring the Troops Home Now,
End the Occupation of Iraq --
National March and Rally in Washington, D.C.

As the casualties and death toll of U.S. troops and Iraqi people mount daily, the anti-war movement brings tens of thousands of people into the streets of Washington, D.C. on Saturday, October 25. The protest calls for an end to the occupation of Iraq and to bring the troops home now.

Organizers expect the protest to be largest anti-war demonstration since May 1, when combat was declared over by President George W. Bush.

Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (A.N.S.W.E.R.) and United for Peace and Justice are joint organizers of the mass march and rally against the Bush administration's war agenda. The demonstration comes as Congress is set to vote on Bush's request for $87 billion to fund the illegal occupation of Iraq.

Coming on the eve of the PATRIOT Act's second anniversary, the Washington mobilization will oppose Bush administration attacks on civil liberties. The October 25 demonstration also highlights the cost of Bush's policy in Iraq to health and human services, schools and jobs here at home.

Over 145 regional organizing centers in cities around the country are sending busloads of protesters; the mobilization's breadth reflects growing public discontent as the justifications for the Iraq war have been exposed as false.

The October 25 begins with a rally on the West side of the Washington Monument from 11am-2pm. The rally will be followed by a march North on 17th St., East on H St., South on 15th St., East on Pennsylvania Ave., South on 9th St., West on Constitution Ave., and then back to the Washington Monument
grounds.
